Introduction

Dr. Tong Chao, associate professor of School of Computer Science and Engineering, Beihang University, visiting research fellow of National Engineering Laboratory for Internet Medical Systems and Applications, visiting professor at McGill University and Quebec University in Canada from 2013 to 2014, member of China Computer Federation (CCF), IEEE and ACM.
His main research area covers mobile computing, social and information network analysis, complex networks, machine learning, data mining, image processing, etc., focusing on the application of deep learning in various fields (such as medical diagnosis, smart grid, transportation network, financial investment, image recognition , aviation management, etc.), and the intersection of complex networks, mobile handheld devices and social and information networks (such as network community structure discovery and evolution, network propagation models of information and behavior, etc.). He has rich experiences of mobile-platform based software R&D.
He is principal investigator of several National Natural Science Foundation Projects, Beijing Natural Science Foundation and some corporate joint projects including Nokia, Samsung, Baidu and other projects. He published more than 30 SCI indexed academic papers and possessed more than 20 national invention patents. He is now the associate editor of IEEE Access, guest editor of Transactions on Emerging Telecommunications Technologies,Neural Computing & Applications, reviewer of many famous magazines and meetings including Chinese Journal of Computers, Journal of Computer Research and Development, IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Network Magazine, IEEE Communications Magazine and INFOCOM. Currently, he undertakes the teaching work of Wireless and Mobile Computing, Social Computing, Introduction to Social Computing, Smart Phone Programming, Social and Information Network Analysis, Production Practice and other courses for undergraduate and graduate students.
